It all started with a gate, a hallway, a layover and the idea that even an airport deserves a little soul. Eataly is landing at JFK with a few brand-new spots and I got to help bring the spaces to life. Think fresh pasta, strong espresso and design that feels like a deep breath before takeoff. Travelers, welcome to your in-transit moment.

Forbes called my Eataly design a “milestone move” with Eataly’s first step into U.S. travel hubs and several new locations opening inside JFK. I designed the interiors to feel more like a curated escape than your average airport bite. It’s a big deal for the brand, and even bigger for travelers who believe good food (and good design) shouldn't stop at security.

VEGAS BORN BAR & GRILL
HARRY REID INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

The Vegas Born Bar & Grill at Harry Reid International Airport comes alive with a bold interior that champions the Vegas Golden Knights’ legacy. With standout touches like a gold-filigree façade, life-size knight armor and a glowing 2023 Stanley Cup mural, the design packs a serious punch of team pride and local flavor. Airport director Rosemary Vassiliadis praised it for capturing the “true spirit of our community,” while VGK President Kerry Bubolz called it a must-stop spot where travelers can “celebrate the team” and soak up Vegas culture. The result? A vibrant, fan-fueled hangout that scores big on style and hospitality.

CABO WABO BEACH CLUB & BAR
THE WATERFRONT BEACH RESORT

Sammy Hagar brought the Cabo party to Huntington Beach, officially opening his new Cabo Wabo Beach Club with tequila, live music and plenty of rockstar flair. The launch was pure Sammy with impromptu jam sessions, ocean views and cocktails featuring his own Santo Spirits. Beyond the party, the brand gives back in a big way, with proceeds supporting CHOC and Tilly’s Life Center. I had the pleasure of designing the space, blending beachy Baja vibes with rock ‘n’ roll energy to match the legend himself. Surf, sun and a little philanthropy. Sammy’s still proving you can’t drive 55, but you can open a beach club that rocks.

LIL WOODY’S
SEATTLE-TACOMA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Lil Woody’s, a beloved Seattle burger & shake spot, is now sizzling in the North Terminal at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, bringing its local charm to travelers on the go. The space was fully transformed with custom partitions, slick finishes and a vibe that blends quick‑serve efficiency with that cozy, neighbor‑hoody feel. The airport’s dining deck just leveled up, delivering a taste of home for Seattleites and a tasty surprise for folks passing through. I had a blast designing the space, bringing in brand-true warmth and flow to make grabbing a burger between flights feel like a welcome pitstop.

    “A bar that incorporates equal parts knowledgeable staff, expansive drink menu and unique atmosphere. Although there is a food offering, this is known more for its bar component.”

    Tucked into the C/D Connector at Nashville International Airport, The Green Room Lounge & Whiskey Bar channels distillery charm and Nashville hospitality. Serving Southern comfort food and cocktails made with Nelson’s Green Brier, it offers travelers an immersive taste of Tennessee’s rich heritage, culture and whiskey tradition.
